In response to the Israeli attack on Gaza in July/August 2014, the Block the Boat coalition, in solidarity with Palestinian people and as a part of the Boycott Divestment and Sanction (BDS) movement, organized to block and delay the Israeli Zim shipping company from docking and unloading its cargo on the West Coast in the United States. On October 18, 2014, Block the Boat successfully delayed the Zim ship from docking in the port of Long Beach, California.
